When Kicki Theander created the ready planned food bag-company Middagsfrid in 2007 she started a food revolution. Suddenly families were able to save time, money and stress over every day meals by getting groceries, recipes and inspiration delivered to their homes. What’s more, they now live and eat in a considerably more sustainable way. There are three main reasons for this; close to zero waste as a result of menu planning and predictability, a holistic and responsible philosophy on what goes in the bags (and the research to make these choices) and collective transportation. On average Swedish families using Middagsfrid reduce their dinner related carbon footprint by 55%, and this is at the same time they are increasing their quality of food and life. Middagsfrid is currently in six European markets and the concept is rapidly spreading throughout the western world.
