JESSE MARSHALL | localisation, politics
Jesse Marshall is the director of Community and Supportive Services for the Chester Housing Authority, a local agency that manages subsidized housing in one of the poorest cities in Pennsylvania. Since joining the Housing Authority in 2011, Mr. Marshall manages the agency’s Community Health Initiative, a national pilot program developed in partnership with the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. Run by a diverse group of public housing residents and volunteers, the initiative integrates peer-to-peer education strategies with community-based projects around organized exercise, digital media, and urban agriculture. He has facilitated the use of these projects as platforms for time-based economies and cooperative models of local food production and social support.
