Helena Leander, born 1982, is a Member of Parliament since 2006 and is member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture and alternate in the Committee on Finance, Committee on Taxation and the Committee on European Union Affairs.
She became a member of the youth party Grön Ungdom at an early age, and studied Political Economics before she became a Member of Parliament. This background formed her belief that taxation and other economic instruments are important tools in the environmental issues, and that the environmental challenges we face today demands changes in both lifestyle and politics.
Helena is also a spokesperson for animal welfare issues and LGBT-issues for Miljöpartiet de gröna.
