ALEXANDER STÅHLE | cities, architecture
Alexander is a landscape architect and has a PhD in Urban Design. He is part researcher at the School of Architecture in Stockholm and runs the consultancy Spacescape that analyses urban space, design and development for architect offices, developers, real estates, municipalities and other public authorities. Alexander has developed methods for urban analysis such as Place Syntax, Sociotope Map, Green Space Typology. His thesis “Compact Sprawl” captures combined measures of density and open space in urban development.
At Spacescape he has run big projects such as “Urban Quality Evaluation”, “Denser Stockholm”, “Slussen City Life”, “Life of Sergels torg”, “Strategies for New Årstafältet”.
Alexander lives in the middle of Stockholm inner city with a family and two children and no car.
